As a board member, you have a responsibility to set the climate for student discipline in your district, implement policies with fidelity, and ensure student disciplinary hearings comply with the law. This course provides information for Illinois school board members regarding the role of the board in student discipline under Senate Bill 100. Course topics include the discipline foundations unchanged under SB 100, changes to suspension and expulsion procedures, disciplinary removals to alternative schools, behavioral and disciplinary interventions and additional SB 100 mandates.

Successful completion of this course will count toward five Board Leader Recognition Points.
