Description
The 2022-2024 Illinois School Law Survey will be available for purchase mid-May, 2022.

Illinois School Law Survey is a convenient guide for answering the school legal questions of educators and laymen. The Survey presents answers to more than 1,600 questions in 27 chapters, along with a list of the statutes, rules, and court cases on which the answer is based. The book's popularity stems in part from the guidance it provides in searching for state or federal laws. In addition to an extensive Table of Contents, the Quick Reference Index offers a detailed listing of more narrow topics and where they are discussed in the book.

Questions and answers have been updated to reflect legislation and court decisions from the past two years (to January 1, 2020) and questions have been added to cover new statutes and case law. (Note: Excludes laws unique to Chicago Public School District 299.) A Table of Court Cases is arranged in alphabetical order by name of plaintiff makes it easy to find questions pertaining to each case.

INCLUDES DIGITAL VERSION — Each print book purchase includes access to a keyword-searchable digital version of the entire book’s 27 chapters, Table of Contents, and Index. The digital version also contains links to cited court cases and federal laws, along with links to Illinois statutes, rules, and more. A unique code to register for online access to the digital version is included on the inside cover of each printed book.

The book is authored by noted school attorney Brian A. Braun, an attorney with the firm of Miller, Tracy, Braun, Funk & Miller, Ltd., since 1983. Prior to that, Brian A. Braun was an attorney on the staff of the Illinois Association of School Boards and a language arts teacher in suburban Chicago. He also regularly lectures on school law and labor relations.
